September 28, 2020<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Parks Canada Agency <\/strong>and Canada Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) bargaining teams\u202fhave reached tentative agreements\u202fwith\u202ftheir employers, and PSAC members will\u202fnow\u202fhave the opportunity to\u202fvote on their new collective agreements.\u202f PSAC has organized\u202fratification votes between October 5 to November 4<\/strong> to allow both Parks & CFIA members to cast their ballot.\u202f See below to sign up for the ratification vote webinar\u202fthat is most convenient for you.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to\u202fbe eligible to\u202fvote you must:\u202f<\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

1.\u202f\u202f have received your personal identification number by e-mail\u202for mail (your PIN is required to vote, but\u202fis not required to register and attend a webinar) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.\u202f\u202f\u202fensure you are a\u202fmember in good standing (MIGS)\u202f\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.\u202f\u202f attend a\u202f15-minute\u202fwebinar session\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1:\u202fReceive your Personal Identification Number (PIN)\u202f <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For those PSAC members for whom we have no personal email, we will send a letter in the mail containing your PIN to your home address two weeks before the beginning of the voting period. If we have a non-employer, personal e-mail address on file, we will instead send you an email with your PIN the day before voting begins (please check your junk mail folder). If you still haven’t received your PIN, please\u202fcontact your PSAC Regional Office<\/a>.<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please take a moment to update your contact information and provide us with your personal, non-work email address. You can\u202fupdate your contact information online<\/a>\u202fby logging into the PSAC member portal or create an account if you don\u2019t already have one.\u202f\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you still have not received your PIN after the voting period begins, please check your junk e-mail folder and if it is not found there\u202fcontact your PSAC Regional Office<\/a>.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2: Ensure you are a member in good standing (MIGS)\u202f\u202f <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In some situations, PSAC members cease being members in good standing (MIGS) and lose the right to participate in ratification votes.\u202f\u202fTo confirm your\u202fstatus,\u202fplease contact your\u202fPSAC component.<\/a>\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are on extended leave\u202f <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

If you are on extended leave (e.g., long term disability, maternity or parental leave) and therefore not a member in good standing (MIGS), you can make a request to remain in good standing to the National President via this\u202fonline form<\/a>. This will allow you to participate in the ratification vote.\u202f\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you have not signed a union card or are unsure that it has been processed\u202f <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

If you have never signed a union card, you will not be able to participate in the ratification process.\u202fYou can fill out and sign a union card online.\u202f<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are unsure that you have previously signed a card or are unsure that it has been processed,\u202fsimply fill out a new card online<\/a>.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even if you are already a member in good standing, please take a moment to give us your personal, non-work email address. You can\u202fupdate your contact information online<\/a>\u202fright now.\u202f\u202f\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 3: Register for a webinar\u202f <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In order to ensure that members are fully informed prior to casting their ballot, the\u202fPSAC constitution<\/a>\u202frequires\u202fall members to attend an information session before they vote. These sessions will be held by webinar in each region and will allow members to ask questions regarding the content of the tentative agreement.\u202fAttendance will be tracked and only those who registered and attended the\u202ffull presentation\u202fwill have their member profile updated on the e-voting system, enabling them to vote.\u202f\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Find your PSAC region below\u202fto register for the webinar.\u202fYour\u202fPSAC ID is required to register\u202ffor the webinar.<\/strong>\u202fIt is listed in the top right corner of your voter package for easy reference or you can\u202fcontact your PSAC Regional Office<\/a>\u202fto obtain it.\u202fYou must attend a session specific to your bargaining unit in order for your attendance to be counted. Please note that registrations will close 90 minutes (180 minutes in the Quebec region) before a webinar starts. Make sure to register early in order to secure your spot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is strongly recommended that you join the webinar online and only call into the webinar if you have no other option. This will allow you to pose questions in the question box, follow along with the videos and presentation, and easily have your attendance tracked. Those who join by phone will have to go through an additional verification process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Online webinar participation is preferred\u202f <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

We strongly recommend joining via browser or the\u202fGoToWebinar\u202fapp (iPhone<\/a>,\u202fAndroid<\/a>) as this allows us to automatically track your attendance. If you wish to join by phone, you can have your participation counted by briefly joining the webinar via browser or the app and retrieving an audio PIN using the control panel. You can then log off the online webinar to continue listening by\u202fcalling in by phone\u202fand have your participation counted.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you will be joining by phone\u202fand\u202fare unable to retrieve an audio PIN through the app or browser, please note that your attendance will not be automatically registered. Therefore, you must inform your PSAC Regional Office of your presence on the webinar. Instructions on how to do so will be provided during the webinar. If we do not have a record of your attendance, your vote will not be counted.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please join the webinar a few minutes early to make sure you\u202fare able to\u202flog-in and address any technical problems in advance.\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 4: How to Vote\u202f<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As a PSAC member working for\u202fParks Canada Agency or CFIA, you will\u202fhave the opportunity to vote\u202fon\u202fthe tentative agreement\u202fwith your employer\u202ffrom 
October 5 to November 4<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can vote on the tentative agreement by\u202ftelephone\u202for\u202fonline. As stated above,\u202fyou must attend an information session\u202fbefore voting.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n
