{"id":8441,"date":"2020-09-22T15:09:44","date_gmt":"2020-09-22T20:09:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.une-sen.org\/press\/?p=8441"},"modified":"2020-09-22T15:44:29","modified_gmt":"2020-09-22T20:44:29","slug":"sharon-desousa-becomes-national-executive-vice-president","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unesen.ca\/press\/?p=8441","title":{"rendered":"Craig Reynolds Becomes PSAC REVP for Ontario"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"200\" height=\"225\" src=\"http:\/\/www.une-sen.org\/press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/CraigReynolds-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8454\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>September 22, 2020<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to\u00a0the vacancy created in the position of Ontario REVP,\u00a0Craig Reynolds\u00a0who was elected Alternate Ontario REVP\u00a0at the 2017 Ontario Convention,\u00a0will\u00a0assume the\u00a0role.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Craig is an experienced activist at all levels of our union,\u00a0including\u00a0serving as the Local\u00a0President\u00a0within his local (UNE 00087),\u00a0Chair of the\u00a0Toronto Racially Visible Committee and\u00a0has served on\u00a0Ontario Regional Council\u00a0for\u00a0several\u00a0years.\u00a0He\u00a0has also been very active in his component and is currently serving his second term as Assistant\u00a0Regional\u00a0Vice-President for the Union of National Employees, Ontario Region.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sharon DeSousa Becomes PSAC National Executive Vice-President<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the resignation of Magali Picard, Sharon DeSousa has\u00a0been named\u00a0PSAC\u2019s National Executive\u00a0Vice-President\u00a0(NEVP).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As per the PSAC&nbsp;Constitution, in the event of a&nbsp;vacancy in the&nbsp;position of NEVP, the Alternate NEVP assumes&nbsp;the role.&nbsp;Sharon DeSousa was elected&nbsp;Alternate NEVP at PSAC\u2019s 2018 National Convention.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sharon DeSousa&nbsp;leaves the position of&nbsp;Regional Executive Vice-President (REVP),&nbsp;which she has held since May 2011.&nbsp;After her initial election in 2011,&nbsp;Sharon was re-elected to a second term as REVP in June of 2014 and acclaimed at the 2017 Ontario Convention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sharon\u00a0is a passionate and\u00a0experienced leader\u00a0within the labour movement, with a strong focus on grassroots activism and political action.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBoth Sharon and Craig have worked tirelessly for our union,\u201d said PSAC National President Chris Aylward.&nbsp;\u201cPSAC members&nbsp;will be fortunate to draw on their&nbsp;vast experience and&nbsp;commitment to improving the lives of our membership.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Source:<a href=\" http:\/\/psacunion.ca\/sharon-desousa-becomes-national-executive-vice\"> http:\/\/psacunion.ca\/sharon-desousa-becomes-national-executive-vice<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>September 22, 2020 Due to\u00a0the vacancy created in the position of Ontario REVP,\u00a0Craig Reynolds\u00a0who was elected Alternate Ontario REVP\u00a0at the 2017 Ontario Convention,\u00a0will\u00a0assume the\u00a0role.\u00a0\u00a0 Craig is an experienced activist at all levels of our union,\u00a0including\u00a0serving as the Local\u00a0President\u00a0within his local (UNE 00087),\u00a0Chair of the\u00a0Toronto Racially Visible Committee and\u00a0has served on\u00a0Ontario Regional Council\u00a0for\u00a0several\u00a0years.\u00a0He\u00a0has also been very &hellip;
