The members voted overwhelmingly in favour of the agreement today.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the highlights:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Seniority is conserved for 24 months after being laid off<br \/>\n\u2022 Four members granted paid union leave to take part in bargaining sessions<br \/>\n\u2022 Fewer years of service required to obtain vacation leave<br \/>\n\u2022 Maximum days for union leave have been eliminated<br \/>\n\u2022 Thirty minutes paid to allow the Union to meet with new employees<br \/>\n\u2022 Possibility of schedule changes for employees on call<br \/>\n\u2022 Sick leave broken up in 30-minute segments<br \/>\n\u2022 The two-tier sick leave system has been eliminated<br \/>\n\u2022 The meal allowance is increased by $0.15 for every year of the collective agreement<br \/>\n\u2022 Compassionate care leave of twenty-six weeks with a 93% complementary payment<br \/>\n\u2022 Family has been broadened for bereavement leave: grandparents (5 days) and nephews\/nieces have been added (1 day)<br \/>\n\u2022 Every month, 3.75 hours have been granted for pregnant members to undergo routine checkups<br \/>\n\u2022 Three-weeks paid dependency leave<br \/>\n\u2022 Four-day paid leave in the event of domestic violence. The day when the incident occurs will be paid by the employer.<br \/>\n\u2022 Paid representatives, interested parties and witnesses for any hearing of the Tribunal administratif du travail in the event of a work accident<br \/>\n\u2022 Improved grievance procedure<br \/>\n\u2022 Safety boots for employees assigned to winter duties reimbursed up to a maximum of $150<br \/>\n\u2022 Snow removal contract reclaimed<br \/>\n\u2022 Clause related to the performance review improved<br \/>\n\u2022 Task description committee has been established<br \/>\n\u2022 Adding gender identity as a principle of non-discrimination<br \/>\n\u2022 Task descriptions can be accessed at the request of employees<br \/>\n\u2022 Guidance of employment agencies<br \/>\n\u2022 Presence of local executive during the hiring process<br \/>\n\u2022 Monitoring of outsourcing<br \/>\n\u2022 No loss of salary if employee is suspended for a disciplinary investigation<br \/>\n\u2022 Students will have the right to be treated the same as employees<\/p>\n<p>The duration of the collective agreement will be for five years including a &#8220;tow&#8221; clause (clause \u201cremorque&#8221; en fran\u00e7ais) with the Treasury Board, as well as a new pay grid with a wage &#8220;catch up&#8221;.
