That\u2019s why we\u2019re here today.\u201d said PSAC President Chris Aylward.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.une-sen.org\/press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/dsc3681_2-en.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-7048\" src=\"http:\/\/www.une-sen.org\/press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/dsc3681_2-en-300x169.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.unesen.ca\/press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/dsc3681_2-en-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.unesen.ca\/press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/dsc3681_2-en.jpeg 480w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cFederal Public Service workers have been showing up to work every day, delivering the services Canadians rely on, despite the mess Phoenix has created in their lives. Our members have been paying for the government\u2019s mistakes for years. It\u2019s time for the government to start paying them back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The union is calling on the government to remedy the situation by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Paying damages to all public service workers for the great financial and emotional hardship they have endured<\/li>\n<li>Providing the additional staffing and training needed to:<\/li>\n<li>assist members at the Client Contact Centre and the Public Service Pay Centre;<\/li>\n<li>reduce Phoenix cases by ensuring HR data is entered on time;<\/li>\n<li>eliminate the backlog of Phoenix cases, including implementing collective agreements and delivering retroactive pay<\/li>\n<li>Delivering a clear and accountable timeline to stabilize Phoenix, eliminate the backlog, and transition to a new pay system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Damning figures from the recent <a href=\"http:\/\/psacunion.ca\/damning-public-service-employee-survey-supports\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Public Service Employee Survey<\/a> provided overwhelming support for the union\u2019s demands.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo add insult to injury, while our members continue to wait to be paid correct, this government has also delayed delivering a fair deal for over 100,000 PSAC members at the bargaining table.
