The Local had been in negotiations for the last 2 years.<\/p>\n<\/header>\n<div id=\"content\" class=\"region\">\n<div id=\"block-system-main\" class=\"block block-system no-title odd first last block-count-2 block-region-content block-main\">\n<div class=\"ds-1col node node-news node-promoted article odd node-lang-en node-full view-mode-full clearfix\">\n<div class=\"field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden view-mode-full\">\n<div class=\"field-items\">\n<div class=\"field-item even\">\n<p>Highlights of the four-year contract, which expires June 14, 2018, include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a 1% wage increase per year,<\/li>\n<li>an increase in standby pay, and<\/li>\n<li>a change in the definition of part-time employees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Just as importantly, the Local was able to achieve its bargaining mandate of no concessions in the collective agreement \/ bargaining process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cReaching an agreement was a long process and the negotiation team worked hard to protect and improve our collective agreement,\u201d said Local President Roger Bull. \u201cWe offer them sincere thanks for their efforts on behalf of all members.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Local 70395 represents approximately 100 workers employed by the Canadian Museum of Nature in Gatineau and Ottawa.
