Following the recent rally to Queen\u2019s Park by locked-out workers from OLG Rideau Carleton Raceway, the employer has agreed to come back to the bargaining table.<\/p>\n
Since the event at Queen\u2019s Park, the union has learned that a return to the bargaining table with a conciliator is scheduled for March 30, 2016.<\/p>\n
Doug Marshall, president of the Union of National Employees, is cautiously optimistic about the next meeting between the union and the OLG.<\/p>\n
\u201cLet\u2019s hope that, unlike last time, the employer comes to the table with a mandate to settle and not to repeat the same ultimatum that it has made since December 16th<\/sup>,\u201d said Marshall. \u201cWe are hopeful that the increased involvement of the Ministry of Labour for Ontario signals an improved chance of reaching a collective agreement.
