{"id":3381,"date":"2014-02-25T16:10:58","date_gmt":"2014-02-25T16:10:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.une-sen.org\/press\/?p=3381"},"modified":"2014-05-08T09:58:55","modified_gmt":"2014-05-08T14:58:55","slug":"congratulations-local-50773","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unesen.ca\/press\/?p=3381","title":{"rendered":"Congratulations Local 50773"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3383\" alt=\"cmhr_rat\" src=\"http:\/\/www.une-sen.org\/press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/cmhr_rat.png\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.unesen.ca\/press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/cmhr_rat.png 600w, https:\/\/www.unesen.ca\/press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/cmhr_rat-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s some exciting news coming from the Museum of Human Rights: our members there have just ratified their first collective agreement.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">\u201cIt\u2019s been a lengthy process,\u201d admits Regional Vice-President Martin Kaminski. \u201cBut it\u2019s also been a very positive one.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Close to 100% of members voted in favour of ratifying the new collective agreement, said Kaminski.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe got really great comments from members,\u201d explained Local President Stephen Carney, who was part of the bargaining team. \u201cPeople are happy with the ultimate result.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>From the anonymous comment cards received, it\u2019s clear that the members really appreciate the bargaining team\u2019s hard work:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cSounds good to me. Thanks to [the bargaining team]. I trust that they did their best and I\u2019m happy with it,\u201d wrote one member.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKudos to the bargaining team for a fair agreement!\u201d wrote another.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For his part, Carney said he feels fortunate to have been part of the museum\u2019s first collective agreement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not something I had been involved in before,\u201d admitted Carney. \u201cI\u2019ve worked in a union environment, but I had never been involved at the Local level or in the bargaining process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt can be a really engaging experience.
