Did you know? UNE members now have access to a Local Engagement Fund (LEF)<\/strong> to bolster member engagement!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At a recent special national executive meeting, a motion was passed to create the LEF<\/strong>, allowing Locals to access a monthly minimum of $600<\/strong> to a maximum of the equivalent of $2.00 per member per month.<\/strong> These funds are available until July 30, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The LEF<\/strong> can be used for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2705 Member engagement events & social gatherings
\u2705 Travel to UNE, PSAC, and CLC events, rallies & protests
\u2705 Equipment & supplies (e.g., laptops)
\u2705 Giveaways (max $100 per member, $300 per event)
\u2705 Reimbursement for travel & accommodations to national executive meetings
\u2705 UNE Promotional items<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How It Works:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1\ufe0f\u20e3 Local members approve an expenditure plan at a scheduled meeting.
2\ufe0f\u20e3 Submit it to the UNE Standing Finance Committee. LEF-FMSL@une-sen.org<\/a>
3\ufe0f\u20e3 Upon approval, carry out the activity with an advance or reimbursement.
4\ufe0f\u20e3 Submit receipts\u2014claims are required to access future funds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udea8 LEF cannot be used for honorariums or strike funds.<\/strong>
\u23f3 Unused funds return to UNE\u2019s surplus after July 30, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
